About FAN

In 1994, just before the baseball strike, FAN Founder, Jake Wachtel, sensed that trouble was afoot. With fans left out of the discussion, the players and owners couldn't agree, which resulted in a strike. Wachtel thought, "Players and Owners have Unions… What about the Fans?" As a result, he created FAN, the first national and international FAN Sports Union. FAN has become the place where fans go to voice concerns, chat with other fans, have portal access to the sports leagues and media, enjoy discounts for members, and post sports-related stories, art, and photos. FAN is a one-stop network for Fans. Finally, an organization exists to not only be a watchdog for injustices, but to be a positive force that recognizes and honors constructive contributions to fans by sports leagues, owners, players, and supporting entities.
