Tennis
GREAT MATCH.
Federer was awesome in his comeback from two sets down to the kind of deadlock in the fifth set.It was a display of mental toughness and extraterrestrial skill of tennis by the former champion. he remained calm and composed even in such a nerve wrecking match, that speaks volume of his mental ability and magnanimity. As for Nadal , he was really playing better than federer. He had more power and agression in this match but compared to the lack of form of Roger, I would say that the manner of his comeback was an awesome site for fans and admirers of the game.
Sharapova
Sharapova safely into round two
Third seed Maria Sharapova
Sharapova is 103 places higher than Foretz in the world rankings
Third seed Maria Sharapova shrugged off a minor second-set downturn to claim a 6-1 6-4 victory over Stephanie Foretz in the first round at Wimbledon.
The 21-year-old took the first set in 26 minutes, as Foretz struggled to match the 2004 champion's power.
Foretz played far better in the second, but the result was never in doubt, as Sharapova sealed it after 75 minutes.
Roger is sucking
Roger Federer took the decision three months ago to play an additional week of clay-court tennis this spring to provide the surest platform for an assault on the French Open, the grand-slam tournament that separates him from the sport's ultimate achievement.
The world No1 chose the homely Estoril Open in Portugal as the venue for his first experience. He will then compete in the Masters Series events in Monte Carlo, Rome and Hamburg before arriving in Paris in late May. In what mood or form he will be in in seven weeks' time is holding the sport in thrall.
